About DieselMath
What this is
DieselMath is a small independent project. We build cost tools that pull live official data because most trucking calculators online run on numbers from three years ago. No fleet to sell you, no factoring desk upstairs, no app to download — just calculators for fuel cost, cost per mile, IFTA, load profit, and a handful of other numbers an owner-operator checks before saying yes to a load or signing a note.
Every formula is shown on the calculator page that uses it, and the full list — plus every data source and update schedule — is on the methodology page. If a number looks wrong, you can check our work line by line instead of taking our word for it.
How we make money
Display ads, affiliate links (always marked, never changing the math), and one day maybe paid spreadsheet templates. That's it — no premium tier, no email list sold to a data broker, no sponsored placement that quietly moves a number in a company's favor.
When we recommend a service, it's because the math checks out for an owner-operator — and we say so, right on the page, whenever a link pays us if you sign up. You'll see a short disclosure box on any page carrying an affiliate link, like our factoring cost and fuel card savings pages. The math on those pages is identical whether or not you ever click through.
